Re: [Audyssey] Discussing game ideas
Yes, I know that the ideas like Thomas's revenge are not very serious, and that is quite because I started the subject. If you wanted, you could have a bunch of ideas in a minute, it would be enough just to think for a minute about the game where Thomas would, for example, walk through some traps set by list members and hit the oponents with his white cane. This occured to m while I was writing this. But as soon as I would really like to program this, I would block. That is the problem that I wanted to talk about. Best regards! Re: [Audyssey] Discussing game ideas
Hi Charles, Yes, outlining is a big help when game programming. In fact, is a good idea when doing any kind of programming. However, it is extremely helpful in this case as there is a lot more than just the code to think about. You have a complete story, game characters, weapons, special items, whatever and you need to get all your ideas in order before you even sit down to right that game. It is one thing if you want a game like Solitaire where there is just a deck of cards and the basic rules and quite another if we are talking a game with a complex storyline and characters. Re: [Audyssey] Discussing game ideas
Hi Milos, You know most of the games that Phil suggests are just very funny spoof game titles and ideas. Not really meant to be made into a real game. Personally I am not a good creative writer. If I were I might use a text game tool kit rather than write my games in a programming language. You know allot of my games are just remakes of card, board, sports and video games. But other than that, mostly when I get an idea for a game, I work on it and only it until I get it done. I am most often able to make the game as I envisioned it. Do not lose ideas. More often come up with new ideas for the game. Allot of those though come from other people after I have released the first version.
