James, Was this on the testing server or the main one? If it was on the testing server, underscores are no longer allowed in names. If you already have a name registered, you can keep using your usual underscore, but when creating new names it won't allow it. Since I cleared the records on the testing server a few days ago, you are actually creating a new character if you sign on to it for the first time. as far as I know, its the main server, but I'm not sure, I just downloaded the latest version off your sight and ran that, didn't see anything about a server selection. If you just download swamp from the site, then more likely it is version 2.8. you have to specifically download a separate zipped file and install it to be running 2.9 on the test version. HTH. Hello. I am having 2.5 version and it still doesn't work. it's strange becaus it says sometimes we have to make changements in order to the game work under windows 7. It was working ok in 1.8 version. And in offline mode it still works but never in online mode. Always the same: when I try my old username, it says the password is incorrect and when I try to create a difrent character, it says connecting and it never conects. HI, tuesday, April 24th, Aprone posted the following on audiogames.net: The good news is that I've gotten a lot of stuff ready for the next update, but the bad news is that I'm quickly running out of stuff I can do without shutting down the server. I like to keep server shut downs to a minimum so I try to do all I can before finally closing it down. On Thursday I should get the new server I ordered for Swamp. I spent nearly a week planning out how to safely divide the server software between multiple slower computers so that I could finally get it off of my laptop. I had been nervous about making the changes though since it is very complicated and there are about a hundred ways I could screw up and break things. Hatred tracked down a good deal on a server for me that will be able to run everything. While I wasn't too happy to fork over money, I will be very happy to get the server off of my laptop and also avoid trying to split it across multiple computers. Wednesday, he got the new server. He also said that he hopes to import all accounts as they currently are. So when the new system is up, it should be as you were. In the meantime, try to connect. If you cannot, the system is down. Anytime you connect and you don't have any stats, and you press the esc key only to hear connection interrupted, the system is down. come back later. Johnny Tai is right about the key combination. If you press down the mouse button to run, then hold shift or control while letting go of the button the game won't recognize it. This is actually because of the new custom key file and I need to fix it. Basically releasing the button with one of those keys held down makes it look like you're trying to do a new action. The problem was actually that the server went down. I had a friend over and while we were working on some things in the basement the server got bumped and it pulled the Ethernet cord out. Neither of us realized it had happened until probably a few hours later. Hi Aprone and all, I've been playing swamp today, and ran into a rather frustrating problem. As I was reloading my hunting rifle, the game crashed. While this in itself was annoying, the real problem is that now (15 minutes after the event) my computer still can't connect to the server. I've deleted the swamp folder, and re-extracted everything, and it's not connecting. Your mouse is probably configured to be a left handed mouse. In control panel there is a mouse section which lets you reverse its buttons. Hi list: I am having a problem with swamp on my laptop. I have a mac and running a virtual machine. When I click on right click of a mouse i shoot my gun. Is this supposed to happen? I read the instructions and thought that the right click was supposed to make the character move. Same here. My thought is it's not your computer, but the server that is down. Hi list: I am having a problem with swamp on my laptop. I have a mac and running a virtual machine. When I click on right click of a mouse i shoot my gun. Is this supposed to happen? I read the instructions and thought that the right click was supposed to make the character move. Hi. This is because a mac's touch pad doesn't have native right click. I think you can hold down control or some other key while you click to do a right click. My suggestion would be get a desktop mouse to use with it, unless you like the portability of the computer on your lap, in which case I think you might just have to play with a different computer. My hp computer has a touch pad similar to the mac, but it uses the thermal touch sensor to detect whether you're on the bottom left or right to figure out which way to click. Only problem is, if you are just touching the left side, not pressing it down, but press down the right side, you fire your gun and don't walk. Lol. Sent with Thunderbird 3.1.14 portable.
