The last time I diddled with stuff was in the dos days and well I'd like to do
that again.

Any accessible rpg is fun to play as there's not many of them around I can
work with. Definitely let us know when it's closer to being done and I'd
be interested in playing it for sure!

Hi,
that isn't too surprising. I have had my own encounters with Lucas Arts,
and they have an extremely protective view of their copyrights. even
releasing a game for free is no protection from those guys as they are
likely to shut down anyone who infringes on their copyrights.

Hi bryan,
Wow, talk about blasts from the passed. I vaguely remember this game. I
knew of this game, but it wasn't one I played personally during my NES
days. Sounds interesting though.

Hi guys,
I don't want to derail this thread, but yes. It's entirely audio. It's
modeled after rogue-like games (a genre I love) and sort of Final Fantasy
style combat. The rogue-like aspect of the game has been very difficult and
complex to bring to bear, but I am working though it bit by bit. It

Hi,
Yes, I'll have testers for the game. I'd like to say soon, but the truth is
I keep getting knocked back by the complexity of the design. There is a
thread at audiogames.net called New Game Developer that covers everything
I've done and am up to. It's a massive thread though, be warned.

Maniac Mansion was one of my favorite games as a kid. I completed the game
every way imaginable (it had numerous endings) and even managed to complete
it with Dave dead which Dr. Fred commented, "Sorry about your boyfriend" at
the end. The green tentacle wanted to be a rock star and the purple one

Having never played it when it was around I couldn't compare any game that
happens to come around with the original, but it sounds like something I
would've liked to try out for sure. You'd probably have to get people to
do the voices, and not having any experience with programming I don't know
Hi all,
Over the past few days I've been browsing Wikipedia looking at their info on
old NES games I used to play or watch my siblings play. There are quite a few
games that I'd forgotten about but was reminded of during my search for others.
One such game was Maniac Mansion, developed by Luca
