Re: [Audyssey] problem installing all in play software under windows 7.

2011-03-12 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Trouble,

Oh, I've been making the very same argument for years. In fact, I
switched to Window-Eyes shortly after Freedom Scientific took over
Henter-Joice myself simply because I found it generally a much better
product for the money. I'm not someone who will continue to put money
into a product, service, etc if it doesn't meet my personal standards
or quality. Since I'm self-employed I don't have to listen to BSVI,
BVR, and all the other blind organizations that insist on shoving Jaws
down everyone's throats just because they have an inside deal with
Freedom Scientific.

As far as being a sheep I tend to view myself as a shepherd rather
than a sheep. I have always been an independant minded individual, a
person who stands out, simply because I don't always agree with the
common view. Politically speaking I am an independant and do not
officially belong to any party or platform, and vote based on a
candidates marets, ideas, and over all plan rather than any particular
party platform or views. When it comes to religion I'm the same way. I
don't belong to any specific denomination, but instead seak out
non-denominational churches that incurrage an open minded and
individual interpretation of sscripture rather than following church
doctrine and triditions down the line. So when we get into the debates
of operating systems, screen reader wars, etc I am an independant
there as well. I tend to put my money where I think it is best served,
and support the developer/developers who best suits my needs.

At the moment I mainly use Linux with the Orca screen reader for one
major reason. My wife and I are on a fairly tight budget, and I find I
can generally get a decent operating system, screen reader, and apps
for a lot less money. Linux is triditionally more secure, handles
hardware better, and is becoming more and more accessible with every
release. It may not be the most popular operating system, but as long
as it meets my personal needs who cares?

Cheers!

2011-03-12 Thread Che

 Hi Alex and all,
I'm not sure what the issue might be with all in play's installer or front
end, but as far as I know, there are no issues with installation and running
of the card games at blind adrenaline on 64 bit machines, either with jaws,
window eyes sapi, or system access.

we're hoping to have NVDA support soon in our 7 games as well.
I am running them myself on 64 bit windows 7 with no issues, and I know
many others doing the same.
However, I have run into issues with java using jaws, but I've never
programmed anything with java myself, so no issues there.
If you have any trouble installing or running our games, email me
personally, I'll make every effort to take care of it.

Subject: [Audyssey] problem installing all in play software under windows 7.

Hi list.
I am wondering if I can get some help installing all in play software
under windows 7 64 bit.
I have tried e mailing and yesterday telephoning technical support, but
have received no response to either commmunication yet.

the problem I am facing is this,
I start installing the all in play software, and then it gets to the bit
where it has to install the jaws scripts for the program.
however, I then get an error message about it not being able to find a
path its looking for,
I suspect because it is trying to install the scripts in the location
where a 32 bit version of jaws would be, which of course it isn't, as I
am running 64 bit jaws which is installed in a different place,
The error message is as follows if anyone has any thoughts about how to
deal with this I would be very interested, as there doesn't appear to be
a brows button or anything, and all in play have remained silent to date.
Setup
Unable to execute file:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Freedom
Scientific\JAWS\12.0\scompile.exe
CreateProcess failed; code 2.

well.
This will be the last time i ever upgrade jaws.

at least till this is fixed.

Hi,

Well, that's precisely one of the reasons why I let my Jaws SMA runout
with no desire to renew it. For one thing I don't need it. I have full
access to Java apps on Linux using Orca and the Gnome-Java-Access
bridge for $0.00. I find it a bit insulting to find out that I pay
hundreds of dollars on a screen reader, suppose to be the best Windows
screen reader on the market, only to find out I can't run Java based
apps and games using it on Windows 64-bit platforms. And yes I have a
similar complaint about Window-Eyes as well. What I find amazing is
that Orca and NVDA, which are both free, do it just fine. So it is
obvious that Freedom Scientific is just in it for the money, and have
no concern about their customers needs at all.

Cheers!

Re: [Audyssey] problem installing all in play software under windows 7.

2011-03-08 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi John,

Couldn't agree with you more. There are a number of problems and
issues with Jaws that Freedom Scientific has refused to address for
one reason or another. Many of them are in Jaws 12, and were reported
as early as Jaws 10 and Jaws 11. One of the bugs I know they haven't
fixed for sure is on Windows seven if you open a directory it
incorrectly identifies how many icons, files, or folders are in the
directory. I reported this to support back when JFW 11 came out, and
Jaws 12 comes out and the bug is still there. That's one reason I let
my SMA run out, and have no plans to upgrade the screen reader again.
FS has a terrible product, and the issues you have with Jaws and Java
is just a drop in the bucket.

Cheers!

[Audyssey] problem installing all in play software under windows 7.

2011-03-05 Thread alex wallis

The system cannot find the file specified.

Its looking in the right place, but file looking for is not there.
I had another one with that same error.
You will have to talk with all in play tech to get fixed, because its
a problem with there script setup. Just to let you know FS won't touch it!
