Hi tom.
I actually know nothing at all about nvda, --- accept that it's supposed to
work with doss.
To be honest I've used Hal for literally 14 years now, so prefer to use it

could be helpful in certain situations.
Well, the good news is I've fixed my crash in Eamon delux, by the symple
procedure of copying all the console windows settings in my laptop which I
haven't monkied around with.
The problem remains though, while reading the text is fine, stuff is stil
getting chopped off the right edge of the
Hi Dark,
Have you tried using a screen reader other than Hal? You might want to
try something like NVDA just for comparison. I am rather fond of NVDA
and use it a lot these days.

it's a 40 column display. That's why your screenreader can't handle
it properly.
There are some changes you'll need to make to one of the bas files.
edit the file eamondx.bas and search for the following line of text
SCREEN 0: WIDTH 40: CLS : COLOR 4, 0
Change it to:
SCREEN 0: WIDTH 80: CLS :

I'm glad I was able to fix the text chopping problem.
Theres still the issue remaining with the graphical version of the hall,
some features like the casino aren't available in the text version, still
hopefully frank will get back to me
screens such as the character editer.

thinking about people who do not and so would find a text announced symbol
easier to handle.
I have two other questions, is there a way to put Eamon into verbose mode
similarly to
am not sure on your first question, but I can try and answer the second.
