Hi Charles,
No, Eloquence gets it way wrong. It is suppose to be a hard c like the
letter k and not a soft c like the letter s. If you were to say it
correctly it would be ker-ber-us. People who haven't had classic
literature in school or college often make this mistake.

Hi Phil,
Well, what I'm thinking of doing is what Playing in the Dark did with
Topspeed. I can put up different voices or language packs as they become
available so people can use whatever voice or language they want.

Hi Hayden,
Ummm...Not sure why you think Kerberos sounds wrong. I just checked the
sounds menu and karen says the name correctly. The way it is suppose to
be pronounced.

Hi Thomas,
Another idea came to mind.
As you have the files in both voices how about putting both sets in the
game.
Under setup you could have a voice choice setting.
Each Karen voice file could start with k- and each heather could start with

Then have a function that would add k- or h- to e

Hi Bryan,
Actually, I'd rather figure this out now rather than putting it off to
later. I've already decided to convert the MOTA code to C++, and it
would be much easier to put the Sapi code in now rather than later. if I
wait to later I have to yank out a bunch of code and rewrite it, and no
Hi Charles,
Hmmm...Sounds like dart to me. then, again I use Karen all the time on
my computer so I'm quite use to the Australian accent. I guess if you
only use American English voices I can see how the accent might throw
you off. It is a matter of tuning your ear into listening for the

I couldn't figure out how that sound in the sound description menu sounded
like a dot, until I figured out that she was saying dart. Sheesh.
