Re: [Audyssey] thrown my the MOTA voice
Hi Thomas, I too like the new voice and that it speeds up game production is another plus. I think people have gotten used to the Heather voice and hearing someone else in her place feel a sense of loss. If that is the case how about making Heather the voice of the Amazons? smiles, Phil - Original Message - From: Bryan Peterson bpeterson2...@cableone.net To: Gamers Discussion list gamers@audyssey.org Sent: Saturday, December 12, 2009 11:15 PM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] thrown my the MOTA voice You'd have to tinker with the voice's dictionary to get that right and even then there's no guarantee it would work. Hi Thomas, Another idea came to mind. As you have the files in both voices how about putting both sets in the game. Under setup you could have a voice choice setting. Each Karen voice file could start with k- and each heather could start with h- Then have a function that would add k- or h- to each playing of a voice file. Of course you would have to get a patent on this idea to protect it from other unscrupulous game developers from using it. smiles, Phil --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. Hi Charles, No, Eloquence gets it way wrong. It is suppose to be a hard c like the letter k and not a soft c like the letter s. If you were to say it correctly it would be ker-ber-us. People who haven't had classic literature in school or college often make this mistake. HTH Charles Rivard wrote: Speaking of saying that word correctly, I'll bet that Eloquence does not? Re: [Audyssey] thrown my the MOTA voice
Hi Charles, Hmmm...Sounds like dart to me. then, again I use Karen all the time on my computer so I'm quite use to the Australian accent. I guess if you only use American English voices I can see how the accent might throw you off. It is a matter of tuning your ear into listening for the different nuances on how words are spoken. Even though it is speaking English some people, i guess, have troubles with the accent. This is turning out to be an interesting discussion of how different people adapt to different languages and accents. Re: [Audyssey] thrown my the MOTA voice
Hi Bryan, Actually, I'd rather figure this out now rather than putting it off to later. I've already decided to convert the MOTA code to C++, and it would be much easier to put the Sapi code in now rather than later. if I wait to later I have to yank out a bunch of code and rewrite it, and no developer wants to do that. Better to do it once and have it done and over with.
