Hi Phil,
As I recall in the clasic Monty for atari as soon as you walked in to a
dark room with no visible lighting one of your torches would light
bringing the room in to relief.
That was extremely helpful as the final level was totally dark, and no
torches. You had to bring a few along from th
Hi,
Well, in James North's version they didn't make a sound, but you could
find them if you used the review keys to look around the room That was
one way around not having a torch..

As a gamer, I would think this is a good idea, Phil. To Thomas, "year ye!
Hear ye! It is commanded! Do it!" (grin)

Hi Phil,
Yeah, again that is possible, but I am not sure if it is practical long
term. I am sure there are plenty of users who haven't played MR at all,
and some of the first rooms have treasure items, and no torch.
It is something I will put in my bag of wish list items, but at the
immediate mom
Hi Michael,
I'll keep that in mind for Alpha 3. I just now got the UpdateSound
function working properly, and I'd kind of hate to meddle with it this
close to the release for Alpha 2, but I will certainly keep it in mind
for a later release.
As you said the best way to emulate the original Monty

Hi Nicol,
Well, in the old Atari classic many of the temple rooms were dark and
all of the items were not visible. If you grabbed a torch from another
room you could enter that room, and all of the items were visible to get.
In the USA Games creation torches really don't have a navigational

Hi Nicol,
Yes, that is the correct link.
The reason I.E. and Firefox and other web browsers are reporting a
visited link is I did not change the link. Just the file that it points to.

Hi,
That is the basic idea. Yes, torches are timed. They run out after 20
seconds or so.

Hi Charles,
I guess I did. Didn't give any suspense on what he will sound like.
As I did say earlier though the original Monty/Monkey Business effects
are currently being used, but as I find better effects for some of them
I swap them out for the better ones.

Hi Nicol,
No, Arizona Smith is a man not a woman. You probably didn't play James
North's version of Montezuma's Revenge, but Arazona Smith was in that
version and has made a come back in the USA Games version.
As for what Arizona Smith sounds like listen to Smith's death sounds in

Hi Nicol,
Yes, in some cases Arazona Smith will scream when dying. He will scream
when falling off a ledge or landing in a fire pit. Others like
quicksand, lava pits, drounding in water, being crushed by a boulder,
will be different.
As it happens I am waiting to debug the level and for my voice

You should have downloaded the mp3 to your hard drive. If not then your
media setting must be setup to attempt to play files from the source
which is not how that file was meant.
