The Pax Exam Karaf Container is developed and support by the Apache Karaf
community. I think its best to seek support for your Karaf specific
questions there. Looking at both of you questions its nothing we (at least)
can answer from a Pax Exam Core standpoint.

is a blackbox to Exam. Yes a sanity run would help here. On the other hand,
that container is on the way out in version 3.0.

where maven (maven2) was basically not-embeddable so we ended up (or
actually Alin did) re-implementing a simple maven resolver.
Thats all not necessary with Aether + Maven3.
