the all the path data is indicated in the file. How does the file

One thought, if the complexity is worth it:
when the menus are rearranged, GIMP could also provide a
way of calling up the standard organized menus on the fly,
or even make a way for alternate menus to be selectable
and customizable at runtime, persistence could be an option.
