fwiw: I don't either. I just opened gimp. it opened into single window
mode. I unchecked "single window mode", closed and reopened and got

on my openSUSE Tumbleweed gimp 2.10 opens in < 4 seconds and uses < 80 mb
of memory w/o swap, while darktable utilizes 182 mb of memory.
have made, it loads quicker than 2.8 and appears more
responsive. no crashes. some difficulty finding some actions, but
nothing major.
appears a good job was done.

from your jpgs.
ps: you might google your tv's to see what manner of jpg they accept.
My Vizio's accept jpg's from gimp w/o alteration as does both of my
samsung android phones and an ipad and a kindle tablet. ???

very little information for one to make *any* guess. I assume
you are on windows per taskbar, but ...
Try opening gimp in a command window and see if any errors are reported
there, ie: from the command-line.
