Hi all,
I have encountered this same issue with GIMP 2.8 as well as the associated
Inkscape interface problem (https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/1131428) on
my new Windows 8.1 work laptop.
After some investigation I have discovered that the interfering software in my
case is the following

Hi,
Thanks for the report. The bug you linked though seems different. It
deals with mouse focus, unresponsive buttons to mouse clicks, etc.
On the other hand, the issue encountered by people on this thread is
about not being able to drag and drop (layers, channels, and such)
within GIMP anymore.
P.S. I am now on my home Vista laptop and things are not as simple as a I

Sorry this took so long, was trying to figure a way to reduce the size of the
image without being able to use GIMP, so I just did an arbitrary crop of one of
the images in question.

Use the text tool to add your name; the copyright symbol is no longer needed
but you can paste it from Character Map if you want. Do include your name and

I realise C210LUV has solved the immediate problem by installing the
64-bit version of a different build, but for what it's worth I am NOT
able to open the above 052.JPG

Hello,
I was wondering if it would be possible for me to add arbitrary key-value
properties to layers, either in a built-in way, or using a plugin. My use
case is that I'm exporting scenes I put together in GIMP to OpenRaster
format which I read and display into my game engine. The layer order
