I should add:
For encoding, realize, MCE requires all encoder cards (TV) to be hardware
encoders, and as such, we found no difference in any testing for capture of
video performance on any processor greater then 2.6ghz, even Celeron-Ds.
The only time it comes into play is with HDTV capture, where

Ouch, that is definitely too steep to be worthwhile. At least you are
using quality power supplies--AOpen has always just been a rebranded

Since this has been a discussion recently, I think people will find this
interesting. I think he has the issue nailed: Yes, FF could be more
secure, but since it's better than anything other than Opera (who isn't
going to make it in a free browser world when they charge), it doesn't
matter.

I have two notebooks and two wireless NICs (one Surecom, and one

the newer one. Both are using XP Pro and the same drivers. Both are in
precisely the same position. The newer will get reception, but I have to

Are the NIC slots positioned in the same relative location on both
notebooks? Are the screens the same size? It would seem to be that the
NICs antenna, when used on the newer one, must somehow be less effective
in reception...could be due to positioning near the housing of the
notebook, or

Have you checked power settings? Are they both set up for 100 percent
antenna power for comparison purposes?

Well Chris I did look at the MSI board but it has one minor and one major
flaw.
Minor flaw - no overclocking potential.
Major flaw - does not contain the gamut of Expansion Slots

I do agree the option of 3 PCI-E x1 slots are nice, although as of right
now, I've seen no devices that use them :)
I guess I'm just on the other side of it.. for a HTPC unit, overclocking
potential is moot, and since MSI board has coax/digital output, the addition
of another soundcard is a

All the settings are the same. The only thing I can figure is that there
is something wrong with the newer laptop. Perhaps something is wrong with

I don't use Norton A/V anymore but there used to be a setting that protected
against macros being executed or written to Wordsomething like that.
Could it be that it may be activated, if you are using a version of NAV, and
blocking any permanent changes?

I thought of that but tried disabling it... besides Norton would warn you
that it is blocking something, and it would do it with Excel as well. I
have no problems writing macros in Excel
