I would check the ftp logs to see if it indicates what the problem may be.
My two thoughts are that the file name may be too long, or that the server
is only accepting certain extensions/denying certain extensions.

/home/replays/replays

users are jailed to their home directories, which would also prevent this
type of problem from happening.
