Great reports Mika, and interesting to compare against our somewhat
more pedestrian conditions.

Walt,
Sorry for the issue in the 16:1 matching transformer for your West Corner fed
loop. But to be honest, you probably didn't miss very much in the way of
TP-DXing yesterday morning. As Nick has also reported, it was mainly the
regular big gun Asian signals, with a few other odd stations
There seems to be an issue with the Arris modems for RF noise. I checked online

since the only compatible dual modems for cable seems to be Arris ones, it

Why don't you complain to the FTC that it is not shielded according to part 15
inteference levels or something like that? We should band together and find the
proper government bureau to complain to, although we all know complaining to
the do nothing FCC won't do any good.

it may or may not be a part 15 device.. my modem doesnt indicate that it is.

I think a modem would still fall under the part 15 rules as a class B digital
device or at least as an unintentional radiator,

Hello All,
As Dennis has already reported, it was not a spectacular morning for Asian
signals (with a minor exception). The band showed promise around 1300 with very
good signals from several big guns, including 1566-HLAZ at 1300, 828-JOBB at
1310 and the 1053-Jammer at 1315.
On this end:
Quite a few TA's but nothing rare.
Saul, your 1215.06 likely one of the Spain synchro's; Absolute UK is
typically spot on. UK and Spain often swap channel dominance here
over a short time interval.
Your other channels as noted here at 7 p.m. EDT / 2300 UTC Tuesday:

Hi Mark (et al),
Thanks for comments. Fully agree, cx way less than stellar, almost painfully
normal. Woke up at 4 am and had presumed Mexicans on 1140 and 1210, both weak,
with some audio taken for possible identification. Sunset was a let-down - nice

Slightly AU cx really aren't of much use. Aiming west here as I do now,
somewhat AU cx can be of use as a few things in MN,MB,ND,SK,AB can be knocked
down and sometimes out, while leaving things from CO/KS and further south
coming in just fine with no attenuation and less QRM than normal.

They just got their license back, last month, now WHEW is on past their

That explains the Mexican format at times strong here...
no sign of Washington Iowa reported on day power...

Things were pretty dead here this morning, with only. It was a
little unusual in that there were actually quite a few carriers, but the
big guns were down in the mud with everything else. Traces of audio on
774 and 828 was all I could manage today.
Yesterday wasn't really much better,
Good X-band cx tonight, but still no trace of OR's Disney on 1640. Even though
they've switched power KFSG 1690, KNTS 1680, and KRJO 1670 are still noted and
KBJA 1640 is nice at times as well. A black preacher noted on 1640 before they
switched power was surely KDIA.
KBJD 1650 from Denver
I'm sitting just below the X-band right now, trying to pull a Radio Disney ID
out of the muck on 1560. With Del City having switched to comedy, New York
City is the only Disney outlet on 1560 now. Nothing else really noteworthy on
the band tonight, just miffed that ESPN Radio has the

Agree with Nigel. In Victoria, I didn't bother to record anything, as just
a handful of the first tier JJ and KK stations were audible, and being work

more. Perhaps tomorrow! 73, Walt Salmaniw, Victoria, BC
