Using JAWS 16 Windows 8.1. When I press the alt key to access the ribbons,
all I see is something that says show hidden items. Pressing enter or the
spacebar does absolutely nothing. How do I get my ribbons back? I've also
tried Control F2 with no luck.

I am not running MS Windows 8.1 but if the system sounds section is similar
to previous versions of Windows you want to get into the control panel and
look at the sounds menu and make sure that device connect and disconnect
have sounds assigned to them. If not assign a sound to them. Tom
I think it is control + F1, not F2, that expands or collapses the ribbons;
you want them expanded. Control F1 toggles the ribbons on and off.
