Hello Karen,
The siren sound and voice that you heard was likely your avast! antivirus

Hello Karen,
If you are using Internet Explorer then you can open the browser, use Alt-T
to move to the tools menu, and find the delete browsing history menu
choice. Press enter on the choice. You will then get a dialog box with
buttons for deleting such things as temporary Internet files,

Sure! Why not. There is nothing sacred about CONTROL-ALT-J except that
it may be easier for some folks to remember, especially if they use a

I didn't want to take a chance with updating from the update utility

upgraded successfully, even though I had to reboot twice.

before you install the new build, perhaps you need to first uninstall and
remove your original JAWS10 and its folders - particularly if it was
downloaded from the Web. Then try installing the new build. Or, if the
original JAWS10 was downloaded from the Web, you could uninstall it and then
I think from windows itself.

Focus was not lost in this way for me in any version of 10. It worked (and
works) fine for me, in what I'm doing. Now the subject you replied to
refers to error(or errors) in the update process. I had no problems there.
Others have. I wouldn't put off trying updating just because of that.
Does the prior version of Jaws 10 need to be installed before the new update
can be installed?
I know I have it but can't find the disk as it's not brailled the version on
