According to Eric Damery's post earlier today, JAWS 16 will be ready for Windows 10 by the late July release date. It is not going to cause any problems to confirm your desire to get it now. The download will not happen immediately, and should it come through Windows Update or another means, you will be able to choose to install it or not at that time. It won't be available until July 29. I don't know how well it would work with Jaws 16, you'd probably be better off to cool your jets until Jaws comes out with Jaws 17. Hi Glen, I have used both of these email clients in the past, and I have decided to use Windows Live Mail as my default email program. WLM does have a simpler interface, and it gives me less problem than Outlook does. I still have both of them installed on my computer, Outlook just in case I need a backup to WLM, but I only open the program once every week or two to clean up the folders in it. This is a spendy way, but how about getting a skype number, along with the skype program, and the skype recorder program. Just give the skype number to all the important calls you have to record. Others on the list were making the same point. When I upgraded to 2007, but had to revert to an earlier version, I got that same song and dance. I haven't retroed to 2007 after going to 2013, so have not seen any such message. Eventually, I'll remove all earlier Office versions. [JAWS-Users] Windows 10
I am going to check and see if 10 can just be downloaded directly to have on hand for future installations. It would be kind of a drag to have to download such a huge file every single time a new installation or upgrade is required. Anybody who does a lot of work on various systems would agree with me on that I'm sure. Since when does FS offer work arounds for customers who can't afford the cost of keeping their SMA's up to date? If you want to take advantage of Windows 10, you will have to upgrade to JAWS 16, plain and simple. On the other hand, because Windows 7 will be supported until 2020, and Windows 8/8.1 will be supported well beyond that date, there is no hurry to upgrade to Windows 10 and JAWS 16 as long as your current system still works and meets your needs. I don't think I've ever had a real installation disk since DOS 7. Everything has been OEM. I got the Office 2013 disk directly from Ms, at a special price for state employees--not as cheap as Windows 10, but chump change nonetheless. I hope to upgrade my ISP soon, but I imagine 3GB would be a heck of a file at home speeds.
