I think it makes not much sense to add another plug-in that does a subset of
the features of an existing one and adds some drawbacks:
- you need to start a build step that invokes the external (GPL) tool (or
integrate that into your build script)
I've followed this thread only superficially.
I'd say it depends on how widespread the usage of the external python
tool is. If it's already in use by many existing build setups, then a
new Jenkins plugin for it makes sense.
