I remember having the layer visibility problem before, but I thought
it got fixed in one of our nightly builds. Did we decide this was a
JRE problem?

it is open source. We don't have an "official plug-in repository",
although it would be good to get one set-up. I'm on vacation next

Are you talking about the WorkbenchContext object? Does
OpenJUMPSextanteRasterLayer extend or implement RasterLayer?
If it does, you don't need to add a new layer.

Try searching the net for "eclipse run configuration" or something
similar. See if adding the BAT file parameters to your run
