You need to take a serious look at getting your hangar disorganized so you can
make measurable progress. And PS, a light coating of spilled Aeroshell 50 with
about 20 hours on it will help cut the glare from the overhead lights off that

I've been looking for pictures and a writeup on a beautiful KR with a Type 4
that was built by a Florida medical guy. As I recall, it won some awards at
Sun 'n' Fun and may have won a 'Best Engine' at a KR Gathering. I believe the
builder sold it and he may have died since then too, but I may
the aileron deflects very much. Now I
realize that a KR doesn't need much aileron travel, but this would require a
bit of study to see how much down travel is possible with it the way it's shown.

As far as keeping resin out of locknut or nutplate threads while you're
glassing, you can stand them up in a row on some waxed paper and melt canning
paraffin or candle wax into the threaded parts before you install them. Resin

different touchdown speeds. The best way to determine that is to find videos
of KRs landing on hard-surfaced runways that have standard runway markings.
Better yet, see if you can find videos that KR pilots may have
eir safety and that of
their passengers and the public, and have no more of a death wish than
ground-bound folks. I like my AME, but given the opportunity to self-police
and take the FAA out of the equation, I would do it.

Heh, heh? fellow named Steve Eberhart posts and says he's "played around with
KR stuff in the past". An understatement, very much like Steve. He was one of
the developers of the AS504x series of KR-optimized airfoils and he built the
wind tunnel models. I believe John Roffey machined the
calculations that determined the design maximum gross.
Your own maximum gross may vary from design based on how you build the airplane
or how you elect to test fly it.

I have not attended any of the workshops so I can't comment on how useful they
are, but I'll put in a good word for the KRNet because that was how I got my
first lesson on fiberglassing and it looked so easy and so clear that I had the
confidence to just jump right in and get busy. I was going

over a foam form. When the layup is cured, just slosh a little gasoline around
inside it and the foam will dissolve away.
My M-19 is being constructed using the pink board and AeroPoxy laminating
resin, but the wet cell wing fuel tanks will use vinylester for fuel resistance.
