I have found the reverse of that problem - where the threads on the left
side (fan edging) grew tighter, and those on the right side (footside) lost
their twist! I was working with just one type of thread throughout

You may have been able to get the cotton to regain strength by keeping it in
a humid place / putting a damp cloth on it overnight. This trick has
certainly helped me several times when the thread is brittle because it has
dried out

Sad news about Michel Jourde I am at present working the dragon he designed for
Lace Express and as I have also been working on several other projects I'm
sorry to say my dragon rather got pushed to the rear, so now I will get him
down again and finish him in Michel's honour.

If I took a class in a type of lace I have only worked once in my time I
would again consider myself not quite a beginner as I understand winding
bobbins and working patterns etc so quite a complicated business to pitch
yourself and courses.

With children who have good attention spans, I have successfully taught them
simple bobbin lace ( eg snakes, fish etc) at the age of 3.

At last my lace ring pillow has been used. My Gt. nephew married his lovely

I, too, went to Convention in Sacramento, and had a wonderful time.
I took only morning classes as I had my DH with me, and had to spend some
time with him!!
I took the Gold Silver Early Laces, with Gil Dye, and it was fabulous
