Hi Gene,
Take a look at the SourceWriter even if you don't normally use it for sources
it will give you a good idea what belongs in the source.
It depends a bit on what kind of birth/marriage source you have.
My birth and marriage sources range from phone calls or emails from family
members to

I have a pair of twins born, as is usual, on the same day. Their birth
certificates follow the standard UK practice and additionally note the time of
birth.
Simple question, how to make Legacy maintain their birth sequence when adding a
time to the date results in an date that is unacceptable. A
Mike,
I have heard of twins being born on different days and even in different
years - generally when the first one is born close to midnight but
sometimes there is a long gap of time between the birth of twins.
Legacy's date field isn't programmed to include time.

Yes! But if the file ever gets sorted again, the sequence gets messed up.

Is it that critical that the first-born twin be listed first? Usually
people only consider the date, not the time.
You could make an Event showing which twin was born first and include the
time of birth or put it in their Birth Notes.
It looks like the twins sort in alpha order as a sub-sort. I

Perhaps a simple check box option at the family level to Ignore sort routines,
keep manual sort ? Coild also help with multiple children with unconfirmed,
but probably correct sequence.

My suggestion was not for a Global setting, but for an individual family. A
list of children can have a mixture of dates and missing dates, but we still
know enough to set proper sequence.

Something the programmers might consider. TMG has field for each event called
“sort date.” Normally it is the same as the date for the event but in some
instances, such as this one concerning twins. the sort date can be changed to
keep the order of events as you want them.

I would like to know how to handle this.

If he acted as your father and raised you, I would be very tempted to

were raised that way before there was a legal adoption process. And a

I don't believe an adoption was needed if there was a fathers name on
the birth certificate.
And certainly if he raised you and was Dad I would put his line in
your tree perhaps with a note that he wasn't bio but Dad (if you feel
he was) Many sperm donor children are in this position.

Hi Sherry,
I suspect that you're not a twin nor a sister to a twin.
I think your usually relates to people who are not closely connected to twins.
I have older twin sisters born only half an hour apart. I've always known who

If all the children connected to a marriage have birthdates, then the children
sort could easily be done by birthdate, sibling order, given name. If the
children have been manually ordered, the children should stay in the set order.
If the order has not been set, then child sort would be like
