George, It sounds as if you don't have Legacy set up properly and you may keep opening a different file. Check your settings at Options - Customise 1.2 that controls which file Legacy opens when you open Legacy. Also check your settings at Options - Customise 6.1 and 6.2 which are your

I think you need to do this. On the file that you were modifying you need to locate all of the modified individuals and export those to a new database, and then merge that file back into your original file. You can find the modified records by using the search to look for everyone with an update
