I think you've found a bug.
It works OK for citation text but not for Master Source text.

You can definitely use the shared event. However, her primary name will remain
her birth name, so in the Census Event, you will need to say something like
listed as with her name as listed in the census and perhaps stating widow.

When using the Shared Event for a residence, with the census as a source, the
widow's married name was Anna Zatkoff, (maiden name - Kazadowiew). The 1940
census gives her name as Anna Zatkoff, which is what the narrative report
should show for her
