Hello.

Did you try to use our AppImages available here

I do not reproduce your issue on the latest desktop Appimage release.

Could you check if your issue is also present there ? This would help us

Re: [Linphone-users] Question

2023-01-09 Thread Peio Rigaux

Hello.

Could you please describe what "offline" means ?

Please ensure first that you are not using multi-accounts.

For Linphone on mobiles, please ensure that you don't receive calls if
you toggle the "disable" button in the account params.

On Linphone-desktop, you should disable the "register" toggle in the
account param.

In logs, you should see the the app is sending an Un-register request to
the SIP server. If this is well sent, the SIP server should not send
calls to the app anymore.

If after doing the change you observe that you are still receiving
calls, please reach out your external provider to ask them why they do
not take the un-register into account.

Re: [Linphone-users] iOS 16 - Linphone will disconnect in Background

2023-01-05 Thread Peio Rigaux
Hello. The only servers allowed to send push notifications to the stock
Linphone apps are the Flexisip production servers used for
sip.linphone.org accounts.

There are 1 other ways to receive push notifications :

- Install a Flexisip server on top of your installation as a Push
Gateway
<https://wiki.linphone.org/xwiki/wiki/public/view/Flexisip/HOWTOs/Push%20Gateway/>,
register an app on Apple push service (a rebranding of Linphone with
changed texts and colors for example, to respect the trademark), and
configure it with your Flexisip server set as a proxy SIP server. If you
want, you can contact our commercial team

I setup the app to work with my company SIP server, all good

One important feature that I could not yet make it work: If I send the
Linphone app to background, it will disconnect and will not ring nor
receiving any calls when there is incoming call

I MUST keep the app open/active in order to receive the calls…

I have enabled Push notification in the app setting and also, in the

Any settings that you would recommend to make it work anytime?

Thank you

Re: [Linphone-users] Linphone, there is no audio and video on 5G network.

2022-12-05 Thread Peio Rigaux

Hello.

The question to ask is : what is the network topology ?

For each of the networks : does the network does support IPv4 only, IPv6
only, or both ?

We (users helping with troubleshooting) would need app logs to dig
further, especially on the STUN processing.

At first sight, it seems that something should be looked-at regarding
the England mobiledata network behaviour.

Also, does your Kamalio server handles IPv4 NAT aware media-relay ?

From a design perspective - assume the user will not enter the correct

Re: [Linphone-users] some questions

2022-11-29 Thread Peio Rigaux

Hello.

To answer your questions :

Is there a way to add bulk contacts (a file with a list of contacts)?
(TL;DR : Not simply, and not possible to sync with the system contacts
or external provider (google contacts, etc.)
Yes, usually we recommend to setup a Flexisip-presence server providing
a contact list
<https://wiki.linphone.org/xwiki/wiki/public/view/Flexisip/C.%20Features/Presence%20server#HServerknownresourcelists>
through remote configuration provisioning.

The addressbook SIP URI declared in the flexisip-presence server
configuration would need to be entered in the app under the linphonerc's
misc section "bodyless_lists" (could be done by fetching the remote
configuration with a provisioning server).

At each app start, the app will send a request to the flexisip-presence
addressbook server URI to fetch all the contacts and they should then
appear in the linphone-desktop app.

Why does my date-hour activity (messages, calls, etc) have diferente
date-hour than my PC?
This could be related to the QT bug with timezones. If you are in a
negative timezone (West of GMT) you could experience this.

Is there a manual or something about config and use linphone
(conference, videocall, etc) with very detail?
There is some information in the wiki, but there is not a comprehensive
guide with every detail.

Hello.

For this kind of issue we would need a bit of information and context.

This error happens usually when you and your recipient doesn't have

Are you calling someone having a sip.linphone.org account, using the

Re: [Linphone-users] Newbie issues

2022-11-28 Thread Peio Rigaux

Hello Trevor.

Thanks for reporting this.

There are some tests that you can do to locate the issue more easily.

Do you have the same issue with using only Linphone accounts with Linphone ?

What is the external provider's name ?

Do you have the same issue with using only the another provider's SIP
accounts on Linphone ?

With answers to these questions and some logs we should be able to
figure it out.

I would say that you have to ensure that a basic call works between two
same devices before carrying on with testing, as multiple bugs could
eventually be involved.

Re: [Linphone-users] Global response : Confirmation emails for new accounts

2022-07-29 Thread Peio Rigaux

Hello.

For the past few days we noticed that sometime account creation emails
may not be sent for newly created accounts.

There is still an issue about it under investigation.

Normally for now account creation (and sending the confirmation email)
should work on this page <https://subscribe.linphone.org/> (and only on
this page).

Please let me know with mentioning the related account if this isn't the
case.

BUT: There is no confirmation e-mail arriving. Both myself and friends have

Re: [Linphone-users] Cannot make outgoing call [SIP/2.0 513 Message too large]

2022-07-29 Thread Peio Rigaux

Hello.

I tried changing the MTU value in the config file with no success.
Did you have access to your providers server to make this change ? Where
did you change it ? I'm confused.

It would be great to allow a setting in Linphone to change the max UDP
length to possibly solve this issue.
We could eventually add it but it would nto be optimal, as we strongly
discourage using SIP over UDP
<https://wiki.linphone.org/xwiki/wiki/public/view/Linphone/Good%20practices%20for%20using%20SIP/>.

Unfortunately, some providers allows only UDP. Did you try reducing the
number of activated codecs and disabling ICE to reduce the packet size ?

The log states:

Re: [Linphone-users] Linphone Assistant Flexiapi/Flexisip Account manager

2022-05-19 Thread Peio Rigaux

Hello.

You should make sure that the email and sms params are correct in your
flexiapi.conf file, as well as all the configuration of the XMLRPC
scripts of the account-manager.

Unless you do remote provisioning, you need to modify the default values
to enter your instance information (proxy domain,
conference-factory-uri, path to PHP file of XMLRPC etc.).

A detailed how-to would take too much time as an answer to a free
mailing list on my free time, sorry. I would have to gather all
information manually, then explain the role of each files.

Maybe I will write a guide on this part, but only after the migration
between XMLRPC scripts and REST API are fully done.

Here I can substitute the domain I entered in the past with

Please permit Linphone:
- in the Setup Wizzard to enter IP addresses as domain

close and reopen the Preferences window.

I use Linphone 3.6.1.

Re: [Linphone-users] Linphone 3Cx support configuration

2022-02-16 Thread Peio Rigaux

ok so there are two different issues there :

1) Linphone cannot register to 3CX

When you installed Linphone, did you select "use a sip account" in the
assistant (not a linphone account) ?

2) Linphone cannot download the openh264 plugin

For both issues, I would need you to send me logs of Linphone.

To do this, please go on advanced settings, make sure that logs are
enabled (if they are not, please enable them, then restart the app).

Then please reproduce the issues, and click on "send logs" (on advanced

You could then gave them to me in a separate private email.

Re: [Linphone-users] About version...

2022-02-16 Thread Peio Rigaux

Hello.
Yes, normally for a release, we tag each associated submodule to the
same release number, to simplify the process (for Core 5.0.49 you have
liblinphone 5.0.49 and belle-sip 5.0.49, etc.).

Please tell me more about the vulnerability you are talking about, I
need more context to know what you are talking about.

As far as I know, the only vulnerabilities reported to us were about
potential crashs of the app when the incoming SIP request was malformed.
These were fixed since then in release/5.0.

Re: [Linphone-users] How to use AMR-WB in linphone

2022-02-07 Thread Peio Rigaux

Hello.

As of now, we do not have an automated tool to gather coredumps for
investigation...

To investigate the crash, I would need you to give me the backtrace. You
can look for the coredump and run lldb on it to display the backtrace.

If the coredump isn't generated, please run "ulimit -c unlimited" in a
terminal and reproduce the crash.

You can then run  "lldb --batch -o 'thread backtrace all' -o 'quit' -c
[coredump]" and give me the backtrace in attachment.

Please also specify the version of Linphone, and your version of MacOS
(and if it is M1 or not)

That said, as far as I know, Linphone doesn't need to find the licence
of AMR. It's just that you have to comply with the AMR licence from a
legal standpoint.

On the website I gave you (which seems to be the official one), you can
find a contact email address to ask your questions about licence for AMR.

Hello.

For Linphone to support AMR-wb you need to build the SDK with the
option "-DENABLE_AMRWB" given to the cmake command.

Please note that you need a licence
<http://www.voiceage.com/AMR-WB.G.722.2.html> to use this codec.

Re: [Linphone-users] LINPHONE IOS does not run in the background

2022-01-28 Thread Peio Rigaux

Hello.

To receive calls when the phone is asleep, you need to have push
notifications enabled.

Linphone has them enabled by default for the free sip service
sip.linphone.org (this works out of the box with Linphone accounts).

If you are using another SIP provider, you can't receive the pushs with
Linphone yet (we have scheduled a POC but this isn't ready yet).

You would then need a SIP provider supporting push notifications.

Since this isn't common, what we usually do for customers is deploying
Flexisip (our SIP proxy server) as a push gateway.
<https://wiki.linphone.org/xwiki/wiki/public/view/Flexisip/HOWTOs/Push%20Gateway/>

For this to work, you would need to have your own app with your own push
credentials.

If you need professional assistance you can tell us more about your
needs here (click on "Contact Us")
<https://www.linphone.org/contact#content-bottom3>, and our sales team
should soon come back to you.

Re: [Linphone-users] LPhone Desktop: Multiple SIP Lines - which one is calling?

2021-12-10 Thread Peio Rigaux

Hello.

As far as I understand your question, it seems that you have setup each
line as an account.

Currently, the multi-account feature of Linphone is only for debug
purposes, so we didn't invest much effort in it and there may be
incoherence or bugs.

We are busy right now with the development of video-conference (highly
attended by customers), so we can't add this improvement for now.

However, your need seems simple. To prioritize it, you can contact us to

Re: [Linphone-users] Let's Encrypt Root certificate - Windows Phone

2021-11-05 Thread Peio Rigaux

Thanks for the response.

I'm aware of the issues you have mentioned and I will talk about it to
my colleague responsible of the desktop version.

So far, why would you want to edit the default profile (as far as I know
it is only intended for testing purposes) ?

I do agree that we need to put a lot of work in UI errors notifications,
both in desktop and mobile versions. I do report it frequently and I
will continue doing so.

If this was only about me, I would support only free OS but this is not
what customers pay us for... Android and iOS are still in the top list
of our commercial requests, and this takes us a lot of time (even just
to follow upstream)...

Regarding Linux Mobiles support, we could eventually try to do it if we
can schedule it in the backlog, but we really have too much work right
now to start a such huge task...

We are searching for funders, especially for these kind of developments.
So I would be glad if you could eventually give me some leads.

Thanks for taking the time to respond.  I do enjoy the Windows Phone
OS. Problem is Microsoft was trying to bridge the two different
environments together (ARM and Intel), and failed at it. Notice they
also bailed on the ARM Surface tablets. That is probably one of the
reasons why Apple switched their desktop and laptops to a ARM based
processor.

Linux mobile is starting to become popular, though they still have a
ways to go before becoming stable.

The PinePhone has been popular for using those Linux Mobile OSes, and
I like it myself for only $200 USD, and they recently announced a new
PinePhone Pro for $400 USD.

Here is a list of the 20 different OS releases for the PinePhone. Some
are based on Android, so I am sure it would make it easier to support.
Since most are based on Linux, you not going to have to worry about
discontinuing.

https://wiki.pine64.org/wiki/PinePhone_Software_Releases

I was trying the Linux Desktop latest version 4.3.1  and it has some
serious issues I guess need fixing before even trying to get on Linux
Mobile.

Just off the top of my head, the first things I noticed:

Cannot edit the default profile
Cannot delete profiles even though there is a trashcan to delete them
If client cannot connect, does not report the reason to the user like
other SIP clients do.

Though the desktop client needs some serious work, but I would like to
see it on Linux mobile.

Back to Wndows Phone, I will probably continue to use it until the
Linux Mobile OSes become stable enough. And they are getting much more
stable now days. Nearly enough to use daily. Problem is lacking of
applications, though there are basic instant messing apps available
thanks to open source project like Telegram, Matrix, and Jabber.

I really dislike Android, and Apple, and currently only use Android
for certain apps when there is no alternative. Your advice should help
me extend the life of Windows Phone for me

Thanks again,

As stated by the mailing list description
<https://lists.nongnu.org/mailman/listinfo/linphone-users> :

Consider that a well documented issue (with precise reproduction
procedure, logs, stacktrace if relevant, possibly corrective patch
supplied) has a higher chance to receive interest and feedback from
community members.
Postings and issues poorly documented, with no facts, or asking for
debugging assistance for a custom app using Linphone's libraries, or
for a modified version of Linphone are unlikely to receive any kind of
response.

To help you I would need to know the version from which you updated and
the updated version of Linphone.

Please also specify the platform you are using (Linux Appimage, Linux
app from package manager, MacOS, Windows...)

This link
<https://wiki.linphone.org/xwiki/wiki/public/view/Linphone/Desktop%20application%20Files%20Tree/>
can help you to check the location of the call history file.

Re: [Linphone-users] Phone call notifications

2021-11-05 Thread Peio Rigaux

Hello.

To be clear, do you want only to mute the audio notification for a call
waiting or do you want to be able to discard the notification, thus
making the incoming call silently ring until timeout ?

Usually when we do not want to answer to a second incoming call we can
either

1) refuse the call immediately (which can be seen as rude by some people),

2) or we can wait until timeout (then the beep might be annoying).

Currently we are busy working on videoconference, so if you want us to
implement 1) or 2) for a fee you can reach our commercial team here
<https://linphone.org/contact#content-bottom3> and we could eventually
increase the priority of this request in the backlog.

Re: [Linphone-users] Notification problems with iPhone calls

2021-11-05 Thread Peio Rigaux

Hello.

To elaborate, @German is right about how push notifications works with SIP.

Client side, when the phone is sleeping and a push is received, the app
is woken up and registers immediately.

However, as @Andrej pointed out, the registration must not expire on the
server side to get the call. An expire time of 1 hour is not enough to
ensure that we can reach someone with a push, so we have set it to one
year in our servers.

It seems to me that the proxy would need to have some additional
intelligence beyond SIP protocol that would consider expired client
still available, accept the call, trigger notification and wait for the
registration.

That's it, excepted for the "expired" part as described above.

Also build in android SIP client
keeps renewing the registration while idle. Could be an issue specific
to Apple devices?
As far as I know, Android doesn't kill the application immediately when
it is in background, but push notifications are still mandatory to
ensure that we can get a call.

Overall, the issue is likely about an error on our side regarding iOS
client push certificates update, so it has nothing to do with an issue
on the servers.

If you notice any push issue after the next iOS release please tell me.

Chris,

Ok, if there is no activity trace around the time of the call (did you
set debug to “all" within the advanced settings?), it means the app
didn’t receive the push notification at all. When Linphone receives a
push notification, it usually logs an entry such as

2021-09-26 13:17:12:525 [linphone/liblinphone] MESSAGE [PushKit]
Notification [0x2814e9580] received with payload : {..}

within a couple of seconds (max) of the call being started. You can
exclude the network to be the cause if you can reproduce this to
happen with different networks e.g. Wifi and mobile.

The registration process is indeed not happening when Linphone is
sleeping, that’s normal for mobile SIP clients. However, as you
correctly state, when a push notification is received and the app
wakes up, the first thing the app does is to register.

You commented earlier that the app doesn’t care about the time
however one thing I do see though that does indicate there is a time
component is the SIP registration has an expire time of 1 hour (3600
seconds). I see the registration when the software starts, but I
don’t see this re-register. Maybe that’s not required as the push
notification system may take care of this? My understanding is that
the LinPhone app should register with the iPhone notification system
to receive notifications and then it goes to sleep, and in that
respect I would agree that the app should not care about the time
after that. When a call is made, the SIP server (FlexiSip in this
case) should send a notification to the Apple notification system,
which should wake up the LinPhone app, and cause it to register with
the SIP server to complete the call, but something isn’t working
correctly as this isn’t happening.

I will try and characterise this further - making some calls just
under 1 hour, and then some just over 1 hour since registration to
see if there is a stronger pattern than my current "gut feeling".

There was indeed a push notification issue on Linphone-iOS regarding
push certificates (for sip.linphone.org service).

It as been fixed since then. If you run thought the issue, you have to

If third party, do they support sending push notifications?

The root issue here is that iPhone (and Android) tries to save
as much power as they possibly can, thus when the phone locks
it suspends all applications running in the background, the
reason why a call works within an hour has to do with

1) The registration timeout on the server
2) Connection keepalive on the NAT routers along the way.

So something in the system is falling down and the

Good morning. I am new to LinPhone. I am using it on my PC, and on my

1.)This applies to both Windows and Android. If I dial an external
number from call history or address book, I need to preceed the number
with a digit for external calling (e.g calling 555-555-, I need it
to dial 8-555-555-). Is there some place in the config to add
that? I have used other apps, and most have something like that somewhere.

2.)This applies only to Android. I get audio when I call someone, but
when someone calls me, there is no audio either in or out.

Thanks so much for your help!

Re: [Linphone-users] linphone address book adds "+1"

2021-11-05 Thread Peio Rigaux

Hello.

This behaviour was caused by the fact that the Android API returns us
the 2 types of formats (local or internationalized), and we get the
internationalized by default, which is convenient to call foreign numbers.

We added a setting in the .linphonerc to display number as entered in
addressbook in Linphone-Android 4.6, which is

[app]

prefer_normalized_phone_numbers_from_address_book=false

The default is set as true, and you should build the app yourself if you
want to modify its value, since there is no toggle in the settings view yet.

Re: [Linphone-users] Problem keyboard

2021-09-16 Thread Peio Rigaux
You can call any sip number, if the proxy server you are using will
relay the call to this number.

In the desktop app, you have a search bar at the top. This search bar is
used to make calls/chat...

You can also use the "conference" button.

You only have to enter the sip-uri of your recipient (ex:
some...@sip.linphone.org).

If your recipient is on the same domain as you, you can just enter his
username or his number.

If he's not, you will have to specify the domain (ex:
some...@anotherdomain.org of +33612345...@anotherdomain.org).

This is for SIP numbers. Our free sip service (sip.linphone.org) does
not support calls from/to landlines/mobiles numbers, but you can find
another provider supporting it if needed.

Gitlab accounts creation is locked because we chose to focus on the

Re: [Linphone-users] Conference Call Recording

2021-09-15 Thread Peio Rigaux

Hello.

The expected behaviour of recordings would be to have separate files for
the 3 calls (the 2 simple calls and the conference).

Could you please eventually try with the latest beta and send us a short
video of this use case ?

This would help us a lot to understand more precisely the exact steps
you are doing.

call is simply missing.

Is this a bug? How can I get it to keep everything in the future?

Thanks.

I'm not sure about the support status of linphonec, but you can build it
without QT.

To do so, just build the SDK with the "-DENABLE_CONSOLE_UI=YES" option.
linphonec should be in linphone-sdk/desktop/bin directory.

Re: [Linphone-users] [Linphone-developers] Announce: Linphone Desktop 4.3 spotted

2021-09-14 Thread Peio Rigaux

Hello.

No this priority cannot be increased yet.

As I mentioned in another discussion before, we need to do an analysis
of the potential number of users on these mobile "Linux" platforms
before putting more work into it.

This is not only about adaptative GUI. We would have a lot of tests to
run to ensure :

-That the build is working for each submodules we use, and for all
supported build options

-That there is no crashes, or bugs during features testing.

-That there is no performance issues.

We do have a working build for Raspberry, but this is not regularly
tested, so we would have to stabilize it first (but we still have an arm
Linux build to work from).

Please keep in mind that we are only 11 developers, maintaining a full
softphone and SDK with sip-stack, media library, encryption, vcards
support, groupchat, soon videoconference (all of it maintained on 7
platforms), servers, accounts-management, and handle customers requests
so we can live of open source.

I am proud to say that we are doing better than some companies with 10x
more workforce.

We put a lot of efforts to support as many platforms as we can, to
provide as many features as we can, to fix as many bugs as we can, and
to answer on mailing lists as much as we can.

There is a point where we simply can't do more.

To all people here :

If you want you can organize to try to build and fix Linphone for Mobile
Linux platforms, or find companies that would hire us to do it.

This would make us gain a lot of time, really.

Thanks for your help. This is very appreciated.

1. Links that are blanks are links where source changes. For example,
if "Delivered :" becomes "Delivered:" (without space), this is like a
new string. But Weblate should let suggestions.
In fact, it seems there is a bug from Weblate : it add empty section
names and you get multiple blank translations. I  don't know yet why.

2. About "Old Version", I kept it just for you ;) I let it some
comments. It will be deleted.
I put a new component for 4.3 that is with the beta tag that I will
unlock after cleaning translation files (remove empty sections maybe
it will resolve the previous issue) Master is for current development.

3. There is no Linphone Desktop 5.0. 5.0 is for the version of SDK
that is used by Linphone Desktop 4.3

4. I don't think so. There is no special design for small screens and
this may need a new design like phones. Linpĥone Desktop is in Qt but
Linphone phone versions are natives.

Hello.

By default we use our own rootca file embedded in linphone-sdk.

If you didn't modify it, there is a chance that Sectigo certs are not
trusted by the root certificates we use, or that there is a
configuration issue on the server side.

I updated the rootca 3 or 4 month ago, so this is not likely an update

The quickest for you would be to pick a certificate from another

"SDK compilation is supported on |Visual Studio 15 2017| and
|MSYS2| https://www.msys2.org/.;

The guide contains also under the MSYS2 part:

"Visual Studio must also be properly configured with addons. Under
"Tools"->"Obtain tools and features", make sure that the following
components are installed:

  * Tasks: Select Windows Universal Platform development, Desktop
C++ Development, .NET Development
  * Under "Installation details". Go to "Desktop C++ Development"
and add "SDK Windows 8.1 and SDK UCRT"
  * Individual component: Windows 8.1 SDK"

and

"In this order, add |C:\msys64\|, |C:\msys64\usr\bin| and
|C:\msys64\mingw32\bin| in your PATH (the last one is needed by
cmake to know where gcc is) to the PATH environement variable from

Is it so that MSYS2 build (cmake commands) uses both the gcc and
Microsoft build tools?

For your first question, yes you can but this would not be user friendly
in the app (as you can't know from which server the call comes from)

If you these Asterisk servers are yours, you may want to create DNS-SRV
records instead, so the backup server will be picked if the main server
isn't online.

Anyway, the structure of the rcfiles must not be changed. They are used
only internally and we provide parameters to set the rights values (when

We would also need to set time limits on various membership plans.

Does Linphone allow full customisation to allow such features?

Our site would be hosted most likely on AWS so would there be any
issue with Linphone on such hosting servers?
We would expect around 500 members / month in the first year and then
expect rapid growth due to our digital ID verification. Our robust
platform will be designed for unlimited members so can Linphone take
this many members?

Re: [Linphone-users] Linphone GUI fonts are very small and difficult to read

2021-09-14 Thread Peio Rigaux

Hello.

There is currently no way to dynamically increase the font size. The
size of the fonts is hardcoded in the QML files for now.

We may set up a way to increase the font size from the app if we have
some spare time.

Currently we have a lot of work until the end of the year, so this might
be done later.

By the way, to all Linphone users :

If you notice a feature request that you find important, do not hesitate
to answer to the email asking it to up the subject, so we could set
priorities in upcoming developments.

Re: [Linphone-users] Incoming calls - showing account name or display name

2021-09-14 Thread Peio Rigaux

Hello.

Sorry for the late reply.

This behaviour is expected, since the multi-accounts feature in Linphone
is still experimental. We want to improve it but it is not scheduled
yet. We had a lot of work with videoconference and the integration of
groupchat in Linphone-desktop, so we are still quite busy for at least
the end of the year.

If you want to hire us to do it faster, you can contact our sales team

Re: [Linphone-users] Contacts on an Android device

2021-09-14 Thread Peio Rigaux

Hello.

Sorry for the late reply.

1. Only exact numbers are recognized and displayed correctly with the
corresponding name. If there is a difference, e.g. the international
dialing code, the contact is not recognized.
Example: in my android contacts I normally store the numbers in the
following way: +49 130 xxx
Incoming calls have a number like 0130xxx. My "normal phone" can
handle this and shows the correct name. Can I do anything that
linphone also shows the corrent name?

In this case, if you setup your "phone prefix" in the parameters of your
accounts, the app may display the right contact name (I'm not sure about
that but you could give it a try).

2. I have contacts stored in a "nomal" Android address book and a
second address book synchronized with a Google Account. The Google
Account is also not synchronized. Why?
Currently, we only synchronize the normal Android address book because
the app isn't designed to use 2 address books (as far as I know), so
only the first one is picked.

We do have a "do not disturb" presence state in the desktop version of

As far as I know we do not have a setting to enable it in the apps.

Re: [Linphone-users] Unregister problem

2021-06-01 Thread Peio Rigaux
Hello.

I think that we will need to reproduce the issue before going any further.

We would need access to 1 accounts on an external SIP provider which
authenticates each request with no cache.

Could you please eventually give us access to such account ?

It would make us gain a lot of time, rather than deploying a new test
environment with a server just for this purpose...

This way we could do REGISTERS/UNREGISTERS with a systematic auth.

I think that we couldn't see the bug until now because in Flexisip we do
not ask for a new auth if another one was done in the last 30 minutes.

Re: [Linphone-users] Problem with prefix again

2021-06-01 Thread Peio Rigaux
Hello.

I finally had some time to check it out.

I tried on the master branch version (built Linphone-android
4.5.0-c931e1907 with linphone-sdk 5.0.0-e28e5ab).

The behaviour is the following :

set prefix to 49 +49080245551212
 prefix not set 080245551212

So it seems that this issue as been fixed meanwhile. This will be
available in the next minor release (with our SDK 5.0.0).

If you want to call with the international prefix, it must be set in the
accounts settings.

If you want to call the dialed number as-is (to do an INVITE to a
extension number on a external provider, for example), you just have to
make sure that there is no prefix set in the config.

As of now, this behaviour might be sufficient for everyone.

We are thinking about what we could do to handle better the different
usages of Linphone regarding numbers dialed, but we didn't take time to
make decisions about it.

As we have a lot of ongoing work, this is something we could eventually
rethink about it next year.

Do not hesitate to respond to this email if you noticed a weird related
behaviour (the more details you give, the faster we will be able to
answer you).

Re: [Linphone-users] connection failure - bad credentials

2021-05-27 Thread Peio Rigaux
Hello.

To connect with a mobile phone, we are not using a password, the
confirmation key sent to your phone is sufficient.

Here is what you can do to logout and log back in :

-Open the side menu

-touch the current account

-in the settings, touch the "delete account" button

-this would remove the account from the app ("logout behaviour").

If this don't work for you, tell me, and we will need to reset your
account on the server side.

Re: [Linphone-users] reporting bugs in Gitlab?

2021-05-11 Thread Peio Rigaux
Hello Daniel.

You can't create an account in our Gitlab as we keep it for customers.

You can open an issue on the related Github mirror, with providing the
most debug information you can give to us.

However, we are extremely busy with customers requests and their
support, so we cannot guarantee to solve your issue.

Personally, I do my best to answer to most of the issues and mails, but
I don't have time to reproduce each issue and to ask for details on top
of the everyday workload.

Hello Denis.

Sorry for the late reply...

I'm forwarding you message to my colleague responsible of the desktop

We have locked accounts creations in our Gitlab for multiple reasons,
one of which is we do only want to manage customers on our Gitlab instance.

For urgent matter, please contact me directly, as I only check mailing

Re: [Linphone-users] [znot...@mailbox.org: Re: can't find certain settings]

2021-03-26 Thread Peio Rigaux
Hello Znoteer.

The procedure to send logs is not very straightforward, as you noticed
(and I agree with you, I will remind me of suggesting a change to this
behaviour for the next major release) ...

Hitting the "send logs" button will ask you to select an app to send an
email.

If you select a configured email app, it will open and the default email
used for log delivery will be pre-entered, with your logs URL as the
email body.

(The goal here isn't really to send an email from an app, but to get the
logs URL, and then send it to us).

Can you please give me more details about what you want to do ?

Are you talking about a SIP account with a phone number as a username,
or are you talking about the lack of a "Telephone number" field (which

Hello.

I think what you need is a busy lamp field feature.

Linphone doesn't support it yet, but we can develop it for you for a fee
if you want.

That said we already have a lot of scheduled developments for this year
so we could be available only next year.

Hello Martin.

(To Linphone community, I have been very busy for several weeks, so I'm

Thanks for your interrest in Linphone. I could take some time to answer,
but I will try to read everything)

I don't remember if I answered your question or not since then.

Assuming that you have the latest Linphone version installed, can you
please start Linphone from a command prompt, like you suggested, with
the "-V" option ?

This should display some debug logs which could eventually help you.

H265 is working using hardware encoders on mobiles, but we did not
implement hardware encoders library on Desktop yet.

If you need it in short term, you can buy us a development request by

Re: [Linphone-users] Does Linphone ring if I'm already on a cell phone call?

2021-01-28 Thread Peio Rigaux
Hello.

Currently, Linphone does not ring if you are already on a cell phone
call (the app sends a "busy" to the server).

There is no tweak to do with Android settings.

This feature would be hard to implement, that's why we do no support it yet.

Re: [Linphone-users] Linking a number

2021-01-21 Thread Peio Rigaux
Hello. I would need a log message.

To get it, you must select the "previous" arrow in the top left corner.

Then enable logs in the side menu : settings > advanced.
Re-try to link your number, then go to side menu : about > send logs

I can also track your number on the server to see what happened. You can
give it to me in a 1 to 1 email.

Re: [Linphone-users] Register account with the name from deleted account

2021-01-21 Thread Peio Rigaux
Hello.

I see you sent the email with an Android device.

I suppose that you use Linphone on an Android device too.

When you select "delete account" in the UI, the account is only deleted
client-side (on the app), the account is still present on the server.

To use your account again, you just have to run the assistant from the
side menu, and depending on your account, either select "use a Linphone
account" or "use a SIP account".

You should then receive a code to authenticate.

Re: [Linphone-users] H265 vs H264 not optimizing bandwidth + other feedback

2021-01-21 Thread Peio Rigaux
Hello Alan.

Thanks for your suggestions.

You can set the FPS of the call in settings > video > video profile (you
can select "custom")

You can change video definition in settings > video > definition

.

Currently, you can only change the priority order of codecs in
Linphone-Desktop (not in mobile versions), and AV1 isn't supported by
Linphone yet.

I'll keep in mind your suggestions, and maybe we could add it in future
releases.

Re: [Linphone-users] issues using LinPhone

2021-01-13 Thread Peio Rigaux
Hello Boris.

We are currently talking with official maintainers of Linux
distributions (especially Debian).

There were issues in the past preventing them to support the latest
version of Linphone, and I'm sorry for that.

This generated a huge number of user issues because the app couldn't get
fixes from the updates while the sip.linphone.org server did.

I do hope that this update problem will be fixed in a next release.

That said, I took a look at your logs, but I can't take the time to
investigate an old version of Linphone.

Could you please try with the latest Appimage (I gave link in other
answers on this mailing list) and send us new logs ?

Before troubleshooting interoperability with external providers (which
can be complicated), please ensure that all is working for you with
sip.linphone.org accounts.

This is a weird issue. There were a lot of work done regarding fonts and
display in the past releases. Please try with the latest version
available here <https://linphone.org/releases/windows/app/>.

If it doesn't solve your issue, we will need logs from your side.

-Enable logs in settings/advanced

-Quit Linphone (right click in taskbar, quit)

-Send us logs by clicking on the button in settings/advanced

> server replies with 401 Unauthorized, but the client does not respond
> back with REGISTER SIP message filled with credentials and an
