I remember I read the EULA the first time I started to installed it ('96?). It had a clause that read something along the lines This is price free now. But if we ever introduce a charge-for version of IE, the price free status of this will cease - you'll have to pay us to continue using it.

Well, it's clearly a function being called from inside IE causing you to lose. Shdocvw.dll is the missing function; is it in the WINE path? If you can find a copy of the Win95/98 version of IE, you might try it. The Win98 version is less demanding of the Win API. -Original Message-

I'd like to be able to reference devices like /dev/dasd/8000/part1 instead of via /dev/dasdc1. (or /dev/dasd/0.0.8000/part1 is close enough) like Levanta does. Reading all the device driver stuff it looks like I need to implement udev. I can't for the life of me figure out how to turn this on!

I probably don't understand what you are trying to accomplish. If you do manage to get IE6 working under WINE then you will get exactly the same result you get running IE6 under Windows, since WINE emulates Windows. If you get a different result it just means that WINE is not properly
