Anyway I've been looking around and there is something

WINE requires an Intel processor, so it'll never work on zArch machines.
If you are running this on an Intel box, then could you post the error?

Thanks for the reply,we are running on an x86 Intel

Well, it's clearly a function being called from inside IE causing you to lose.
Shdocvw.dll is the missing function; is it in the WINE path?
If you can find a copy of the Win95/98 version of IE, you might try it. The
Win98 version is less demanding of the Win API.

I'd like to be able to reference devices like /dev/dasd/8000/part1 instead
of via /dev/dasdc1. (or /dev/dasd/0.0.8000/part1 is close enough) like
Levanta does.
Reading all the device driver stuff it looks like I need to implement udev.
I can't for the life of me figure out how to turn this on!

I probably don't understand what you are trying to accomplish. If you do

Well, seldon is a RHEL4 AS running on an xSeries box, and, yes,
the PHP _is_ 4.3.9... so we used a back-level version from the
mediawiki site.
I _have_ noticed that openSuSE 10.2 has mediawiki
From what I can gather so far, we have two or three approaches:
1) Cluster file systems: ocfs and gfs
2) distributed file systems: lustre, afs, and dfs (left out nfs and
gpfs on purpose).
3) where mapfs go into. (sorry for my crude ingnorance)
The requirements are the same:
1) stable
2)

It's very stable. Most of the scientific labs in the world use it, as do
a number of the major financial houses.
