Paul, I did same connection some months ago (MP3000 + MAN + VM/ESA TCP/IP + LINUX/390) I had a similar problem, I can ping from PC to VM, from VM to PC, from Linux/390 to VM and from VM to Linux/390, but canĀ“t ping from Linux/390 to PC and PC to Linux/390 using VM TCPIP as gateway. The problem

I have recently installed 2.4.21 of SuSe Linux (SP3) in order to use the Linux monitor stream support for z/VM. Statistics are gathered into APPLDATA monitor records and extracted via Monwrite. The data is then processed using MXG/SAS. Inspection of the data shows that the records (apart from

The implementation of these monitor buffers is inconsistent with the VM monitor architecture. They are NOT updated consistently based on time, but consistently based on CPU consumption. Thus you could NEVER correlate the Linux activity to the guest machine except by occasional accident. There are

How much storage do you have assigned to this LPAR? It looks like you're using the SSH install method, and that requires the least amount of storage, but I figured I should ask. In any case, this looks like something you should take up with SUSE support. It's blowing up in their code after all.

Netcat for z/OS UNIX (was: RE: gcc binary for OS/390 USS)

2004-06-16 Thread McKown, John
Well, the CPU at work actually went below 100% today. I tried compiling it and it failed. No big shocker there! I had to add 5 source statements, which basically nop'ed the IP_OPTIONS flag and excluded two #include files which do not exist on z/OS. I used an #ifdef __HOS_MVS__. It then compiled
