Re: accessing a berkly db file

The data in a Berkeley DB file is application-dependent, so I don't see
how you can have a generic tool to extract it. You'll have to write a
custom tool to do the data extraction. For a fast and dirty solution
you might consider Perl/Python...

There are quite a lot of TV tuners which are supported under Linux.
It really depends how much you want to invest, whether you want it to
replace your graphics card (like ATI All in wonder), wether you want
it to be a smart card (with MPEG encoding in hardware instead of
software) and wether you want to have a USB solution or PCI solution.

I recommend looking at hauppauge offers. They have good record with
Linux support for their hardware.

Thanks,

 http://www.debian.org/mirror/ftpmirror#how:

The recommended method of mirroring is with the so called anonftpsync

 http://packages.debian.org/stable/net/rsync.
Note: while wget and other ftp-tools seem to work well, there are some
issues. We strongly recommend to use rsync.

Anyone care to explain why is that?

They prefer every to use the same script as it might simplify things for
everyone, like making sure mirror use the same option and don't create
non exact mirrors. Such an example might be a mirror with different time
stamp on the files.

wget and ftp tools will just cause more traffic for both servers, as
they usually can only append to files which were changed, things usually
requires re-downloading the whole file. So they recommend rsync.

I can say I use rsync for all the mirrors on mirror.{hamakor, isoc,
iglu}.org.il.

That by itself doesn't prove rsync's advantage. Can you provide some

Right now I expect rsync is practically used as a smart mirror (in the
