Hi Killian,
Yes sadly OME is windows.
We have hundreds of Linux servers with 10s of thousands of virtual servers
all linux and only 2 windows installs. One for OME and one for SANHQ. I
believe Dell is working towards a Linux version as some of their other
tools have made it into that space ..

We're talking about libz.so.1 - that hasn't changed ABI in many a
I disagree -- as long as there is a demonstrated need for the newer library
and Dell's reply earlier implied there was - though I find it a bit hard to

Many packages worth this way -- using RPATH and/or LD_LIBRARY_PATH --
especially for older systems like RHEL6 when they need newer

I've been on this mailing list for about 3 years. In that time, I've
seen repeated questionable engineering decisions related to the Linux
management
I posted to list a few weeks ago about similar issue, so add to the list
libdnet.so.1 which is part of OMSA and ends up replacing the system
libdnet.so.1 due to files added to /etc/ld.so.conf.d.
Using RPATH is a simple solution to this problem.

Hi,
You are right. Previous version of DSU (1.3.1 or below) does
A colleague noticed after we had issues with a standard deployment we
provide to customers that libz.so was updated. Moreover ldconfig was
updated so the system uses the new libz. Again this broke a normal milk run
install we do.
Is there any reasoning for this?
