Do you think it would be worth it making the 3 patches available again

Your USB controller and/or driver might be too slow.

It's definitely old. Please try a new ke
hy your application doesn't start dequeuing (and
requeuing) buffers at 103.129925, when the first frame is complete. It lets
the buffers queue get empty, resulting in frame drop.

webcam.c is sample code only. For real-world applications you're supposed to
write your own gadget driver than instanciates a UVC function, and develop a

Could you please send me the output of
lsusb -v -d 199e:8297

Yes it does. You should install the sources of your running kernel.
Distrib

fix for your problem. Based on information I've received from the camera
manufacturer, your camera is really not UVC compliant. It understands some UVC
commands, but it requires a proprietary protocol for proper configuration.

You should have done it the other way around. If the driver is already loaded,
remove it with modprobe -r uvcvideo. Then load it with modprobe uvcvideo
quirks=0x10.

I'm not aware of any documentation either. That kind of information needs to
come from vendors, so you will need to contact them directly.

e camera crash and reboot (much
more likely) or by electrical issues such as bad cables or a noisy environment
(both are usually related).
If you have a Windows partition on the computer, does the camera work on
Windows ? Can you also try a Ubuntu 10.04 live CD ?

s is probably
caused by a camera firmware bug, leading to a camera crash. There's little
that can be done on the host side. I'll mark the camera as potentially buggy
in the list of supported devices.

Periodical transfers are limited to 80% of the USB bandwidth, so you're

You can create a udev rule that invokes uvcdynctrl (or v4l2-ctl, or yavta, or
any other such command line V4L2 control tool).
