Thinkpad with a Core 2 Duo processor that contained virtualization
extensions in 2007. Ran KVM without issue. That was 4 years ago.

the system to need things like a rescue disk to recover the system. Not
to mention some to supply that rescue disk. Unless you leave one in
every machine :P

a statement that LVM
should be used for all partitions. You could you say all but /boot, or
most partitions :)

there is a time and place
for its use. It is not a one solution for all things, and that approach
can cause problems. Clearly it has for people, otherwise documents would
not exist suggesting to do things other ways. Much less first hand
experiences with systems that won't boot.
