Dear List, Despite reading and re-reading the lyx FAQ and User Guide, I'm still having problems centering floats; My Document settings has \centre in the float placement field, and I've even tried {\begin center} {\end center} around the floats, but no luck. Any ideas? Matt -- Dr. M.

Hi Thank you for the help. I can get \appendices to work using ERT. If I inserted the environment APPENDICES using LyX drop down menu the word APPENDICES appears in the document, but it disappears as soon as I move the cursor to any other line. Is it a bug in LyX? Thank you Leo -

Elsart Template, authors inline --nearly!

Hi List; For those interested I've attached a copy of an ammended Elsart template which will produce(with one further tweak) authors names inline. One problem remains and I'm not sure how to overcome this: This template, if you have elsart.cls installed, produces a .tex file which requires one

Hi all, You probably already know this, but just in case you don't, I'll save you the headaches I had when I didn't know it. Using cross reference type " on page " prints page information ONLY if the referenced figure is on a different page. It makes a lot of sense, but I didn't realize that

Hi! How do you write a case equation in LyX? I mean an equation like B = { 1 if x > 0; 0 if x = 0 so that the brace covers multiple lines? I looked everywhere and read the Users' guide but it did not cover that. TIA -- myriam
