Helge Check the latex installation on the troubled computer. Is babel missing, or is there no support for english ? It's a fresh install of Lyx/Latex and I watched babel being listed during the install. I'm not sure how to check for english support but will have a look tomorrow when back

This is a behavior I've not seen with previous versions of LyX but which appears more often than not with 1.6.5. When I insert a graphics figure (either pdf or jpg) and change the edges in the clipping tab of the settings dialog box, both the original and changed figure are displayed
