Hi All, Well it took some time, but I ended up re-installing cygwin on my laptop, and I almost got Lyx 1.3.0 to work. (Is it always this hard?) My new problem is: I can't use LyX files in my directories. Whenever I try to open a lyx file I get the error message: ERRROR: An error occured

Hi, Thanks for the hints! :) For some reason my new Cygwin did not download python. After I installed python, LyX 1.3.0 seems to work find with my old lyx files. But I must say, I wonder how a person with no IT programming experience could install LyX on Windows; it is too difficult I think
