Could Babel be getting in the way? How about the fancyhdr package?
That's all I could think of.

While I've found millions of tutorials for other languages, I can't seem

IIRC, I read that Oren Patashnik plans to change that in the new version
of BibTeX.
Anyway, I think supporting amsrefs as well as bibtex would definitely
make LyX a lot more versatile. Quite a few people have posted about
modifying the bib style, that says a lot.

I know it's not simple, as that would imply reading (if not opening) all
the lyx files in the document. But I thought adding it to the end of the

The \pagenumbering command resets the page counter. If you want a few
unnumbered pages you can use:
\pagenumbering{gobble}
and
\pagenumbering{arabic} (or roman, or whatever) where you want the
numbering to begin.

P.S: what I did was,
Edit the

s05l.pfb -URW-Symbol-medium-r-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-urw-fontspecific
is changed to (only "urw" is changed to "adobe")
s050
I did not do that and the math panel works. Although I do not know the
exact nature of the urw fonts bug
hope this helps
