Not, if they are very complicatedly structured... If they are simple, I follow a simple routine: a) I use KWord under Linux to open the doc-file b) I export from Kword as .tex file c) I check if the LaTeX file will run in TeX d) I start LyX and import the LaTeX file Now, pictures, tables etc
