I am using LyX 1.6.2 on Vista 64. I have made a master.lyx file from where I include a few child documents as input. I compile this master document and preview it with sumatra pdf. Normally when I edit and compile one of those child documents the updates for the whole docment are shown in my PDF

To my understanding, when you choose a View command, Lyx creates the corresponding files in a subfolder of the Temporary folder that is indicated in: Tools/Preferences/Paths/Temporary Folder box. If you view your Lyx File in PDF or DVI, it normally runs bibtex and that creates the bbl file in the same temporary folder as the dvi file.Otherwise, you cal also export your file in Latex and run bibtex manually. You firts run latex myfile.tex and then bibtex myfile.tex. I hope this helps. Mura
