I just installed 1.6 RC4 and tried this and it still errors when I turn on track changes, delete a citation and try viewing output w/ the "show changes in output" turned on. Shows up in Lyx fine but cannot generate output. What version did you try and how did you do it?

I'm using lyx 1.5.1 under Ubuntu Gutsy. If I add a citation into the document, and then delete it when using tracked changes, the deletions can be seen as expected (red, struck through) but when I try to view it as a pdf I get an error: Argument of [EMAIL PROTECTED] has an extra } Is this a bug

You could layer change tracking on top of that for reviewing changes --- this should be a lot more convenient than trying to use the SVN
