I do not know about jumping in tables but I think that if you hit the end key when in the links list you will jump to the end. I am not on my Mac at the moment but this certainly works in item chooser so logically should work there as well. I forget what the MacBook equivalent of end key is.

Andy, It sounds like you may not be interacting with the text box before setting your insertion point and beginning to type. I just tried to replicate using Mavricks but was not able to do so. Just make sure you interact with the text box, and I bet you will get better results. Let us know.
