Just open the disk image file as you would normally open any mac app. It will automatically mount on your system, and you can access it from the finder as normal. After you get the installer completed, you can simply close the window, and unmount the image by using command-e (for eject) in

What anti virus program did you use. iv'e used clamxav with no issues what so ever. and I've been using it for about a year now. Can you reboot in to the consul and see if anything is up? See if you can hold down command r and start your mac, then after about 30 seconds let go and start vo.
