Filling out Doc File forms

Hi, Is there a way, to fill out Doc file forms using either my iPhone 5S with IOS 10 plus, or the Mac with OS Sierra? I know there are versions of Microsoft Office, but I don’t want to pay a subscription, and I don’t do this sort of thing very often. I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks
