Yes, this is sort of correct. However, in the US, pricing does not include state and/or local sales tax. So, the pricing is, in all but a few states, 7 to 15 higher than the posted price. In NZ and Australia, the price that one pays is the price listed. Australia is less expensive than NZ.

Scott, If you haven't already then have a look at the mega boom, When you pair a set to a stereo pair they are even better sounding. And great battery life as well. Plus they push voice through the speaker so you can hold a phone call over one with the mega boom giving you audio.
