There could be a number of things. The age of your Mac, the cord, or the drive itself. If yours is an older Mac though, that is most likely the issue. Restart your mac and then plug in the drive. When you open it, give the drive a couple minutes to load. There could also be a formatting issue.

Two options. I recommend the all inboxes feature as you get everything in one place. Doing a Command 1 will bring them into focus Otherwise, VO J to the mailbox list and up arrow to All inboxes. Right arrow, and go down to the inbox you want. VO J, and you will be in the message list for that
