Yeah, I tried being sneaky and creating a playlist of AudioBooks. Then that
playlist showed up in the Playlists section within the Home Sharing machine.

Its strange. I do not see that dialog on the iPad. I rebooted the

I did find out that iBooks is used for audiobooks but I do not see
the titles there. Maybe in this case Home Sharing really is slow?

sometimes between iDevice and Mac, but not specifically what you're mentioning.

Apple Music is off. On the My Music screen, there are no buttons you
mention. This is really getting to me now. (smiles) Home Sharing is on,
I have signed out and back in again. Its like my iPhone does not even
see anything on my network. It sure ios not seeing the library.

something like “Show my music” or some such thing. The other starts the

My considered opinion is that Apple offers very poor choices for running a
dedicated media server. You need iTunes open and running on your dedicated
machine, and you also need remote control over that machine, or keyboard access

Be sure that home sharing is enabled on both computers, with iTunes open on
each. Now, if you interact with your osource list, you should be able to see
the library of the alternate computer there. I think it will give some
indication that it is a remote library.

I can't seem to get home sharing working. I've authorized two different
computers, I've turned on home sharing, and I gather I'm supposed to be able to

but, just in case it has not, the answer to your question is yes; one can not
only play media from one Mac/PC to another using Home Sharing but one can
actually import the media to another Mac/PC also
. I'm Allison. I don't know if you can share content
other than Itunes by enabling home sharing. I'm new to the Mac as well.
I've only had mine since April. Were you a Windows user previously?

What I found confusing when setting up home sharing was that for some
reason, when typing in the password box, VO didn't make the accustomed
secure text clicking sounds. So, even though there was no feedback
indicating that text was being entered, it was in actuality, happening.
