Hi,
The Clon View work by creating a command string containing all information
about the map, e.g. zooms, labels, etc. But this string that should contain
all
these information isn't allways large enough. The string is limited to 32K
characters, well this the was the case a year ago and they

Hi,
I am currently assessing the feasibility of moving our MapInfo dataset to an

using Oracle 8i to store GIS data. I am particularly interested in the

generate it from .TAB or Mid/Mif?
Any hints are welcome.
Thanks,

Hi All!
A while ago there was a thread concerning the default lat/long behaviour

I have just experienced a weird behaviour of the standard buffer tool

Hi all.
Maybe a small, easy problem: How can I calculate, in MapInfo, the
distance between two points? Do I have to do something special with
the projection?
I'm completely lost here.
Thank you very much in advance

Hi Andreas,
.BNA is an ASCII format. It is used by AtlasGIS to convert files. I think it is
possible to generate it using the AtlasGIS-ArcView converter which can be downloaded
from http://www.esri.com.

This is an Atlas GIS format. From what I remember, Atlas can read MapInfo,
but MapInfo cannot read BNA.

Thanks for your reply. I was aware of the rulertool, but I like to have
the distance in a table or textfile.
I know there is a distance function in MapInfo but I don't know how
to use it.
The MapInfo help says:

A cheap solution although somewhat involved. The freeware Mr. Sid viewer
can export .sid to .tif and by default writes a .tfw and .tab file at the
same time. You can, of course, delete the .tif image and then edit the .tab
file in notepad to point back to the .sid image and while you're there

Hi Scott,
To use a C++ term you need to Overload the Close Table operation. In fact
you need to cover all your bases (Close All as well). Write a MapBasic app
that replaces File Close and File Close All functions, and checks for your
particular table.
