Title: MI: datatype mismatch error
Hi List,
Why this gives error:
dim tname as string
dim tobj as alias
tname = layerinfo(frontwindow(),4,1)
tobj = tname+.obj
Select * from Areatable, tshape where Areatable.Obj Contains tobj into roadinfo
Last line gives error datatype mismatch in

hello
I have a problem getting my table mapped. I am now using MapInfo 4.5

Ken,
You could also use your map of store locations to create a set of Voronoy
polygons. Each Voronoy polygon represents an area around a store location in
which that particular store is the closest available.
Once you have done this, you overlap this map with your customer locations

One issue is the handling of .ecw files. In the past we have used
the MapImagery Plugin To get .ecw files into Mapinfo - this worked
fine. With the new version of Mapinfo it offers .ecw support.
My problem arises when I need the .ecw file to retain it's coordinates.
MapInfo seems to treat this
Good morning Listers,
Does anyone know of a means by which I can take MapInfo map/image files and convert
them to the GRASS format, i.e., a rastar cell matrix accompanied by a header that
contains the matrix's metadata?
Thanks,

Hi,
Many thanks to Russell, Anatol, Martin, and Stanley's suggestions. Here is
the summary of the suggestions to my question:

sounds like what you have is a 'permissions' problem, often happens with

Another problem which probably has a simple solution that I haven't found
yet!
I have a Mapinfo layer that I want to use as a blank template layer - i.e.
the field names are defined but there is no data in the table.
In the Map Options dialog box I have set the Map Units to degrees, meters

Hello,
I'd like to know if it is possible to convert a GRID file to a USGS DEM (ie
export out). I don't believe this is possible in MapInfo or Vertical Mapper,
and I'm still waiting to hear if FME can do this. Has anyone come across a
way to do this?

I have a problem getting the screen to refresh automatically when making edits,

have been unable to locate the option to sort it out. Any ideas.

Hi users
We are planning to use GIS to support the sales department on its decision making
process. I would like to tap on your market experience. I wonder about MapInfo
solution? This is not my background so it would be interesting to hear from you.
Thanks

Hello all.
I am wanting to display a magnetic transect in mapinfo as a line graph. The
transect is not a straight line, and the distance between each point varies.
How to I display the xy (easting/northing) position in their correct
