Very similar to driving the 560SEL, except with more engine noise, usually somewhat less options (like heated seats, etc.), and the ability to get 31mpg on selected trips. Ours was pretty reliable at getting 27+ no matter how you drove it. -- Jim ___

I can’t speak for Curley, but I believe he is lauding the graces of the W126 long wheelbase diesel, specifically the 300 or 350SDL. They’re wonderful cars to drive, especially the 350SDL. The amount of power that engine has for the size of the car makes it drive almost as well as a gasser. I
