Broken ez out is not good. I have had success with them doing marine work, but you have to drill perfectly. On a stud you should drill dead center, all the way through. start small and work up. make the last bit or two a left hander. don't even try drilling again until you get the ez out out. Oh

Leak down test. You don't really need the tester for gross results. Apply compressed air though the glow plug holes, with the valves closed and the piston at TDC or BDC. Listen at the intake exhaust and oil fill for escaping air. Bent valves will be obvious. worn rings a little less so. Bob

One method that works for seal removal on some but not all set ups is to remove the nut and outside bearing then reinstall just the nut. Pull briskly out and down on the rotor. The nut inner bearing and seal will be left on the spindle with the seal usually still reuseable after CVI. Bob D.

One additional factor, at least in Florida, The last time I checked the state added about $.24/gal tax on gas and $.48/gal on diesel. It is just another hidden tax on all the trucked in consumables you buy at the store. Bob Dupuy
