I loved driving my 220D (1970) on the highway. I think I got around 30 MPG. I think the 115 is a better highway driver than the 123 series - the 107 shares a lot of the suspension. I think mine had power steering. The AC was after market, and I removed it to gain better access to the alternator.

Sounds about right. I've done the job twice - once by the manual - took me about 20 hours, and through the speaker hole the second time - took 6-8 hours. I had to glue the speaker cover frame back on to keep it from rattling - the lip it snaps to had to be cut off to get the fan out. MB lists

i still maintain that the best course of action is that when your blower motor goes, sell it to someone who doesn't need a fan and buy one with a working blower motor. MB lists the job as 18 hours labor, IIRC, to do it the Benz way. If you go the trans-speaker hole route, it can be cut down to

My '76 300D owners manual lists disk wheels for both the 240D and the 300D with: 5 ½ X 14 with 175 SR 14 tires on the 240D and 6 X 14 with 185 HR 14 tires on the 300D. The exploded view parts book also only shows steel wheels. The EPC doesn't list the option codes for my old car, and only shows
